A woman can claim to be the owner of streedhan regardless of whether she is married, unmarried, separated, divorced or widowed. The contents of streedhan could be anything, include and not limited to:
• Property acquired through inheritance or any sort of family understanding.
• All gifts received before marriage.
• All gifts received as a bride, including those received from own father, mother, siblings, relatives, friends or from the husband and his parents, relatives or friends. Also including any gift from any of these after and during the subsistence of marriage or widowhood.
