Gujarat woman slits teen daughter’s throat with paramour's help

A woman slit her 17-year-old daughter’s throat with the help of her paramour who also stabbed the victim four to five times in her stomach in Dhama village of Patadi taluka in Surendranagar district on Wednesday. The victim died on the spot and both accused were arrested on Thursday. According to case details, Kanku Thakor (35) and her paramour Umang Thakkar (37) wanted to bump Kanku’s daughter Sonal Thakor alias Sonam off as she had seen them in a compromising position. “Kanku used to work as a maid at Umang’s house where they got attracted towards each other and subsequently developed physical relations. Sonal also used to accompany her mother to Umang’s house sometimes. On Wednesday, when Sonal entered the house she saw her mother in a compromising position with Umang. Fearing that she would spill the beans about their relationship, both Kanku and Umang killed her,” said Jhinjhuwada police station sub-inspector M D Jadeja. The accused duo grabbed Sonal from behind and picked up kitchen knives with which they first slit her throat and then dealt her four to five blows in her stomach, killing her on the spot. When Sonal and Kanku did not return home till late on Wednesday night, their family members started searching for them. When they went to Umang’s house, they saw Sonal’s body lying in a pool of blood. The accused were arrested on the complaint of Sonal’s cousin brother Vishnu Thakor. The accused confessed to the crime and narrated the details of the crime to the police.
